Our Taratape Megagate is woven white 20mm polytape with 10 stainless steel conductors and strengthening side ribs for longevity. 20mm tape width for improved visibility day or night by farm worker or animal. 10 stainless steel conductor strands ensures gate security, 2,430 ohms/km. Supplied as a 100m roll to meet all your single tape or multi- strand gate requirements. Quailty manufacture with UV stability.

Advantages of Polytape:

• Polytape is typically wider and often comes in white, making it highly visible to both livestock and humans reducing the likelihood of accidental contact with the gate or fence, improving safety for both animals and farmers. Livestock is less likely to push or attempt jumping the gate.
• Polytape generally has more surface area in contact with the air compared to wires and braids, which enhances its conductivity and ensuring a consistent and effective electric shock along the length of the gate. However, polytape does catch more wind and is more prone to flapping which can increase wear over time.
• The wider profile of polytape distributes the electric shock over a larger area upon contact, reducing the risk of injury to animals which can be beneficial for animals prone to testing new gates or fences, minimising entanglements.
• Polytape can be easier to handle and install compared to wires and braids, especially for those new to electric fencing and is more forgiving when it comes to proper spacing and tension during installation, reducing sagging.
• Polytape is designed to be compatible with the Taragate multi-strand gate kits and single strand handles.
